Ahmad Al-Khatat writes

My Hunger And Thirst….

It’s 3:12AM, cloudy and very lightless dawn
Only a few stars are seen to my weak vision
That describe the perfect shape of your body
As if I am seeing you from somewhere far away
All of a sudden, I feel strangely thirsty for a
Kiss of yours to revive me from my sorrows
Yet, I feel I am awake intentionally to suffer
I pray to the God, and your name comes up
Maybe I am a sinner to recall you at this time
I had drinks but it doesn’t mean that I’m dead
A drunk person still feels happy with tears
But I feel miserable with more tears to fall
I have nobody to speak with, nor anybody to
Share my yearnings of you endlessly, it’s
Love and nothing unethical, I do miss
Sailing my boat in the river of your joyfulness
Before I was depressed and now I’m happy
But I’m on the edge to end my life any day
I see what I couldn’t see years ago and now
Tears are rolling below the sad moonlight
And death smiles with the actual devil
Whenever I read my last letter in front of
The mirror, since you are sleeping up
And I’m awake below with no sleep
No more resting, no more relaxing
My head cannot remember your face
But my heart still beats of your scent
I can talk clearly from your sweet kiss
