Sakat Majumdar writes

Song of the sea

A gang of fishermen come down sailing their boats
With a beautiful song in their lips,
The nice rhythmic words sound sweet
And touch people’s heart with an ease.

It tells about the waves of ‘blue’
While calm in nature, it’s soothing to the eyes,
Like the prevalence of utter peace in life
That smoothness is desired, the flow without hazards likewise.

About the extent of fury too
As the traumatic stormy foam brings disaster,
Some unwelcomed, tragic phenomenon has resemblance with those
Which are not certain but expected to be far, the farther.

Also the way they usually live
Even little things in their everyday living,
The happiness and sorrow pass through
Become lively in the way they sing.

The fishermen come down sailing together
With their lyric that tells their story,
The sea is their life as it tells
And hence it’s the ‘Song of the Sea’.
