Anoucheka Gangabissoon writes

After the gusty struggles

Love, look at me
Allow me to furrow further into your neck
Don’t switch on the lights
Let us be
As we are
Surrounded by darkness
In warmth, comfort and shelter
Tangled in each other’s arms
Breathless,
Yet calmed,
For, in the very end,
We struggled with the gusts
We walked head down in the pouring rain
We risked being carried away by cyclonic floods
We trod in deep marsh lands
We braved the cyclone laden with
The sneers of the rest of the world,
The sarcasms of Ego,
The walls keeping Forgiveness prisoner,
And the demons which had captured
The essence of pure feelings!

Love, look at me,
Allow me to furrow further into your soul
While we listen to the ravages happening outside
At least, even if trees are being uprooted,
Even if roofs are being carried away
Even if people are trying their best to shelter themselves
And to feed their children
We, selfishly in love with each other,
Are locked safe in the air bubble
That appears for us
Each time we let our bodies
Give in to the gusts that blow in them
Allowing them to drive us
As if we were mere dandelions
Being dragged along,
Unable to control ourselves faced
With the forces of the winds!
