HARRISON FORD'S NOSE

Harrison Ford’s distinguished nose

ran away one day
Ford tried to retrieve it
But the nose left Hollywood
and traveled north
It quickly climbed the ranks
in the technology industry

The nose refused to even talk to Ford
Ford gave up and found a new schnozzle
The old nose is now a successful CEO
of a major Silicon Valley corporation.

  1. Harrison Ford made his Broadway debut in 1904 and his 1st movie in 1915, appearing in over 80 silent films by the time he retired in 1932. In 1951 he was struck by a car and spent the rest of his life at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California, dying there in 1957 at the age of 73. Meanwhile, an unrelated former actor Christopher Ford and a former radio actress got married and had a son named Harrison in 1942. The young Harrison became a radio announcer on his high school's radio station but became a philosophy student at Ripon College in Wisconsin. He took a drama class in the final quarter of his senior year to overcome his shyness and decided he wanted to become an actor. Moving to California in 1964 he managed to get a number of bit roles in movies. His 1st acting credit was as "Harrison J. Ford" in 1967; though he had no middle name the J. was added to avoid confusion with the late actor. However, as just "Harrison Ford" he continued to get minor roles on TV but quit acting in the 1970s and became a self-taught carpenter on movie sets. However, a young filmmaker George Lucas hired him to appear in "American Graffiti" (1979), which cost $777,000 to make and eventually garnered over $200 million. Its success gave Lucas the opportunity to make the 1st "Star Wars" movie in 1977, featuring Harrison as Han Solo (he got the role by reading lines for other actors). Harrison became a major star as a result and appeared in another 3 movies in the series as well as the title character in Lucas' series of "Indiana Jones" films, beginning in 1981. Five of his movies are among the 30 top-grossing movies of all time in the US, adjusted for inflation, and his entire output has earned over US $5.1 billion (over $9.1 billion worldwide).
